Identify someone you can talk to about money

This week is the seventh issue of our Finances for Feminists Financial Bingo Series!

Do you have someone you can talk to about money issues or goals? Perhaps a friend, partner, family member, etc?

Many of us don't. Instead, we carry the weight of navigating our finances alone which can lead to isolation, shame, and stagnation.

In other areas of our lives like managing relationships, parenting, etc, it might feel more "appropriate" to discuss and share problems and solutions. However, in my opinion, getting emotional support in our financial journey is equally important!!

My work seeks to normalize conversations and feelings about money. We we share our goals and hardships with our community, it can help us weather the financial ups and downs of life.

What does this look like? It could be as simple as:

  • asking your partner to help with joint accountability to spend less money eating out.

  • reaching out to a colleague to navigate a job negotiation conversation.

  • sharing with a close friend a financial hardship you may be going through.

Let me know how it goes! Do you have someone in your life you can talk to about money?

You can shoot me an email at hello@financesforfeminsts.com or send me a DM at https://www.instagram.com/financesforfeminists/. Well done on another bingo square completed!
